After I became a Christian, God placed in me a desire to help others understand His truth. I completed a master’s degree in counseling in 2000 and gained my Ohio LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor).
I started my counseling practice, New Reflections, in 2003 with a vision to help everyone see the new reflection God gives them.
I appreciate being able to sit with my clients over the long haul to see that understand the whole depth and breadth of who God made them to be.
Matt asks questions that go right to the heart of the issue. Sometimes I did not like his questions, however, through answering them I was able to begin to see more clearly the real problem. Secondly, Matt challenged my thinking pattern. He helped me to begin to see how my thought pattern was dysfunctional. He also showed me a way to begin making my own decisions based on my priorities instead of impulsive thinking. Finally, the books, handouts, and exercises Matt had me read or complete were helpful. They showed me new ways of looking at different situations. They taught me life skills to use to deal with problems in my life.
Matt’s books are comprehensive. He writes using Scripture, but also includes needed understanding of helpful clinical theories. He adds practical tools, insightful questions, and easy-to-read charts.
